My first memory of performing an original tune was when I was 11 years old. Most of my early singing was church, school choirs, musical and performance groups. I love the memories of sitting around the piano with my mom and sisters singing in four part harmony. Playing guitar in the church band and collaborating with other writers also shaped me as a songwriter. I love to listen to other vocalists and write with their voices in mind like an instrument. 

My husband stole my heart when he said “my mind was alive with the melody of it’s own music.” I always have something fresh and new bubbling in my head.

I have taught songwriting in Florida and Texas. I am kind of a guru in terms of helping people get past writer's block. I help others uncover the songs that are within themselves.
